Ethical Management Policy

SK ecoengineering has in place an ethical management system consisting of three elements (3C: Code, Compliance, Consensus), Code of Ethics, and Code of Conduct that guide us in fulfilling our economic and legal responsibilities as well as the expectations of society when conducting our business activities. The Code of Ethics defines the scope of compliance as the entire value chain in accordance with international standards and describes SK coengineering's attitude and role toward employees, customers, business partners, shareholders, and society, as well as the specific ethical management practice systems.

Three Components
of Ethical
Management
System
_
3C
  • Code

Providing specific, codified behavioral guidelines for employees that define
their responsibilities to stakeholders based on corporate ethical standards (Code of Ethics, Code of Conduct, etc.)

  • Consensus

    Forming a consensus among employees
on the practice of ethical management
through systematic and periodic training (CEO message, training programs,
    campaign activities, etc.)

  • Compliance

    Organization and various systems
for practicing ethical management (dedicated ethical management
organization, counseling and report handling function, ethical audit, etc.)

Ethical Management Goals

With the aim of achieving zero anti-corruption violations, we will continue to upgrade our ethical management system and raise employees’ awareness of implementing the Code of Ethics. There is zero tolerance for breaches of ethics and anti-corruption policies. Data concerning cases of bribery and sexual harassment are disclosed, with a recurrence prevention program to be operated to facilitate actual improvement measures. We will also continue to conduct surveys as a way to eradicate workplace harassment, intensify ethics and anti-corruption training for all employees, and enhance whistleblower protection measures in order to solidify the foundation for ethical management practices and secure the trust of employees. Furthermore, we will gradually expand the target of ethics and anti-corruption training to global employees to raise the effectiveness of the training, and strengthen the autonomous ethical management activities of individual employees.

Internal Audit

We conduct internal audits on ongoing projects and headquarters to inspect business procedures, compliance with relevant laws, and unethical behavior of individuals. For violations identified through internal audit, we immediately take corrective action or establish improvement plans with the relevant departments to prevent recurrence.

Reporting Channels for Unethical Behavior

SK ecoengineering is operating the counseling and reporting channels for ethical management that can be used by all stakeholders, including employees, business partners, and customers. We have various reporting channels such as the Internet, e-mail, and KakaoTalk to make it easier for everyone to access, and we allow people to report using their real name or anonymously. We have developed a whistleblower protection policy which emcompasses the subject of whistleblower protection and the content of protection (identity, confidentiality, personal protection, and non-discrimination). By applying stricter disciplinary standards to behavior that penalizes whistleblowers or exposes whistleblowers to others, we strive to create an environment where everyone feels safe to speak up.

Violations and Actions

From 2022 to date, we have taken disciplinary actions against those involved in workplace harassment and other violations of the Code of Conduct. We actively share violation cases to prevent recurrence by providing training on violation cases and releasing the results of the Penalty Review Committee to all employees.
